The Bromsgrove Festival was founded over fifty years ago and has a proud history providing an exciting cultual and artistic experience for the people of Bromsgrove and the West Midlands.
The Festival was revitalised in 2014 in a new more community based format and proved an overwhelming success, thanks to the enthusiasm and support of the many local groups which joined in with the idea of working together for the community under the umbrella of a Festival. With over 70 events during the five week period, there was something for everyone under the theme of 'Try Something New' including music, dance and theatre performances by local and professional groups. Art, craft and country shows, poetry reading and opera also featured alongside top names from the folk scene,TV, theatre and classical music world. A bustling Carnival Weekend, Court Leet procession and many performances and activities given by and involving children gave something for everyone, culminating in a spectacular aerial drumming display as a fantastic finale.
Lots of people really did 'Try Something New', and many events saw increased audiences, which has resulted in the formula being repeated for 2015, incorporating many new ideas and an even wider range of activities.
The 2015 Bromsgrove Festival will run from 13th June until 19th July 2015 and already promises a bigger and more diverse programme than in 2014.
